May has been a difficult month, due to the medical issues James has been dealing with, and at the moment there’s no end in sight. Having him home has meant that the routine that had been working well for me is now impossible. James is much more nocturnal than I am, so he’s late to bed and late to rise, so I’ve been getting much less sleep than normal, but I have been able to work in the afternoons, even though that isn’t the best time for me. I’ve also been having concentration issues. There’s so much that I want to be doing and it feels like I don’t have enough time to do it all, which leads to procrastination, although I do seem to be getting better at dealing with that feeling.

Finish something month didn’t go as well I was hoping, but at least I did finish one story, and I’ll be continuing it into next month as I mentioned before. I’ve spent the month writing continuations and working on prompt call stories, which did go well. Even though I haven’t quite finished all of the prompts I’m well on my way to having them all done.

This month I missed three days of the 365 stories, but I have been posted prompted stories and I posted a few for the Crowdfunding Creative Jam, so I think that I’m still up to date, although I still haven’t updated my progress bar.

For the first time I nearly reached my monthly goal for donations, even though I was nowhere near getting what I need to cover the groceries. I’m hoping now that I’ve earnt a little money I’ll start earning more, because right now we really do need my income to be able to cover all of the rent and the groceries.

Fiction posted: The Case of the Counterfeit Enchantments: part 8, 20th continuation; part 8, 21st continuation; part 8, 22nd continuation; part 8, 23rd continuation; part 8, 24th continuation; part 8, 25th continuation; part 8, 26th continuation; part 8, 27th continuation; and part 8, 28th continuation. Plans for June: I’m not going to make a plan for July, because at the moment I have no idea what’s going to happen with James, but I do want to do the credit count.

Aims for June: make enough to cover the groceries, at least, and complete at least three stories.

March has been a much better month for me personally and I’m slowly beginning to restart my routine. At the beginning of the month I set up kajoneswriting.co.uk, which isn’t quite finished yet. I still have to set up the world pages with lists of characters and links – which is something I have been putting off slightly. It seems like such a huge job. Towards the end of the month I found Scrivener and I’ve decided I’m going to purchase a licence because the set up is wonderful for the way I write. Due to those two outgoings I’m really hoping to make some money this month.

As usual I also posted March’s free story, which was: Introducing Marnie, from the Magi collection.

I finally finished posting December’s prompted stories: Becoming Human, for Aurora’s World; and Leap Year Proposal, for the Inquisition. I’m really sorry it took me so long to get the stories posted, especially as I enjoyed writing most of them. Due to the length of time it took me I have no idea who signal boosted, so please let me know as soon as you can and I’ll write the extra words for you. I also posted one story for the March prompt session: Freya’s Arrival, for the World Walkers collection. The rest of the stories for the collection will be posted by the end of April.

No donations were received.

Low signal boosting once more means that I’m not going to hold the draw again this month. As it was entirely my fault this month if anyone signal boosts during April they will automatically receive 1000 words per boost. Boost on three different platforms and receive 3000 words. A limit of ten boosts per person.

I’ve made a decision about the surprise draw. This month I’m not going to hold it again, but from next month I’m going to begin again. If you’ve won this draw and don’t want whatever it is you’ve won then it is possible to change it into something you do want or give the prize to someone else – all you need to do is let me know. Anyone who doesn’t let me know what they want to do by the end of April will forfeit their prize and I’ll give it to someone else.

Plans for April: finish off the website; do at least some of the editing I need to do – as I just transferred everything from one place to the other I didn’t do any editing; post some things up on the donor filter, because I’m reallty hoping to get some donors this month; and the normal monthly posts.

Goals for April: write at least 50,000 words and receive at least £50 in donations.

This month has been another difficult one and there are no guarantees that March will be any better, but I'm hoping to work around all the problems. I have been suffering from low spoons, which has resulted in me spending a lot of my time asleep, as well as dealing with issues at home. Unfortunately this has meant that I haven't posted any of the prompted stories from my last session, although I am working on them and hope to get them posted as soon as possible, and I still have two to post from the session before last. I'm sorry if you've been waiting to read a story.

For February the free story was Jack - An Asexual Vampire (part 1) (LJ link), which was written from one of [livejournal.com profile] ysabetwordsmith's many prompts.

There were four random stories posted, three for the World Walkers collection: Mab's Story (part 1) (LJ link); Zoe's Story (part 1) (LJ link);  and Rhiannon's story (part 1) (LJ link); and one story for the 'Astral' World collection: Veronica's Story (part 1) (LJ link).

I also wrote some fanfiction for [personal profile] aldersprig's web serial Addergoole. Ursula's First Night at Addergoole (LJ link); Guntram (LJ link); Livi - The First Morning (LJ link); and Adelaide (LJ link).

The donor perks page (LJ link) was edited this month. If anyone has suggestions for any other perks, preferably different to what can be purchased with credits, please let me know.

Plans are underway for creating a website, which will be especially useful for selling ebooks, and I'm looking at spending around about £23 for the domain and hosting.

The first newsletter (LJ link) will be going out this month.

One piece of bonus material was posted: The Origin of the Vampires (LJ link) for the Donor House collection. I have another in progress and two more to start.

No donations were received.

Again signal boosting low side, so I'm not going to hold the draw.

The surprise draw, which I've held every month, is not going to be held this month. There are several draws that have been completed and when I've informed the winner I haven't had a reply. I'm not sure if it's because people aren't interested or if there is some other reason, so I'd like some feedback on this. I personally love the suprise draw, but if it's just me than I might change things around a little.

Plans for March include: catch up on everything I didn't get done during February, especially the admin work I was planning on doing; start working on the donor filter (once I've tested something out); normal monthly posts - free story, collection spotlight and character spotlight.

My goals for March are: write 50,000 words this month and raise at least £50 in donations.

January was a strange month for me, personally. Much of my time was spent in another place, so I didn't get as much work done as I hoped to, which means that my word count for the month was very low (I'm not entirely sure what it was because the word count on Open Office is incorrect and I use an online word counter that I didn't have access to). However I did post all but two of the remaining prompted stories, made setting rental available, and worked on more world building material, especially for the World Walkers collection.

The month's free story was Aurora Blooms (part 1) (LJ link), which was written for [personal profile] meeks during her adoption period.

Prompted stories posted: Tatiana's Arrival (LJ link) for the Brotherhood collection; Rynne - The Portal Freezing (LJ link) for the 'Astral' World collection; Nadia - A Drink Driving Vampire (LJ link) for the Donor House collection; Anna's Yule (LJ link) for the Pagan collection; Introducing Kieran (LJ link) for Heliopath's World collection; and the Green Man (LJ link) for the Fae World collection.

The Imbolc/New Year prompt call (LJ link) was started and will run until the 4th of February.

Setting rental can be found here (LJ link).

No random stories were posted. Two are ready to be posted, so they'll probably be going up in the next couple of days.

One friends only piece of bonus material was posted: the World Walker's Worlds (LJ link). One of the pieces of bonus material I have been working on for [livejournal.com profile] ysabetwordsmith is ready to be posted and will be going up in the next couple of days, while I'm still working on the other one.

No donations were received.

Signal boosting was once again on the low side, so I've chosen not to have a draw for January.

The winner of January's surprise draw is: [livejournal.com profile] marina_bonomi. The prize is free setting rental - 3000 words a month about two settings for 3 months.

My plans for February include: ADMIN WORK!!!; normal monthly posts - the free story, collection and character spotlights; and a small auction.

My goals for February, as always, are: writing 75,000 words this month (I know I can do this) and reaching £50 in donations, which will be going towards Mum's birthday present.

In December I posted twenty-five parts of the advent story as the month's free story: Trey (LJ link); Aisling (LJ link); Genevieve (LJ link); Orla (LJ link); and Conall (LJ link). This story will become available to purchase once I have edited it for typos. If you would like a copy personalised then let me know - personalisation costs nothing extra. You will also be able to purchase all five stories in handwritten form or simply the one you like best.

There was one prompt call, which lasted five days, and I received twelve prompts from four people. Four stories have been posted: Estelle and Oria (LJ link), that I think is probably a part of the World Walkers collection; Martina (LJ link), which is a part of the World Walkers collection; Tamara meets an Ice Dragon (LJ link), for the Fae School collection; and Richard and Samael at Christmas (LJ link), for the Afterlife collection. I also posted the final continuation from the October prompts call: Richard - An Old Soldier dies (LJ link).

The two winners of the draw to name a character in a random world were: [livejournal.com profile] aldersprig (October prompts call) and [livejournal.com profile] ysabetwordsmith (December prompts call).

No random stories were posted.

Again, no pieces of bonus material were posted. I am still working on the two pieces for[livejournal.com profile] ysabetwordsmith.

No donations were received.

The winner of December's signal boosting story is: [personal profile] meeks.

The winner of December's surprise draw is: [livejournal.com profile] skjam. This month the prize is a prompted story of 5000 words.

During December I failed to reach most of my goals. It was an awful month for me personally and that affected my work.

My plans for January include: posting January's free story; the collection and character spotlights; making better use of access filters, including a newly created donor filter; editing everything I have posted so far; doing admin work on a more regular basis; posting the world rental scheme; and working on more world building material.

My goals for January are: writing at least 75,000 words this month and reaching £50 in donations, which will be going towards birthday presents and an anniversary present for my OH.

One free story was posted. This was Charlotte's Name Change (LJ link) for the Pagan collection.

My ongoing prompts period was ended, after I wrote one more story which was Terry and Martin (LJ link) for the Inquisition collection. Two continuations were also posted. These were for Sauin Day Celebrations (LJ link) for the Aurora's World collection and Bree - Harvest Festival (LJ link) for the Thear collection. I have one more to write.

Surprise story week stories had one continuation posted this month: Skyler (LJ link); Sebastian (LJ link); Heliopath (LJ link); Tristan (LJ link); Richard (LJ link); Vitali (LJ link); and Callidora (LJ link).

Two random stories were posted this month: Introducing Lucille (LJ link) and Rachel's Story (LJ link). They are both a part of the newly created World Walkers collection.

No pieces of bonus material were posted this month, but I am still working on those two pieces for [livejournal.com profile] ysabetwordsmith. I want to get them posted by the end of December.

No donations were received this month.

Choose-Your-Own ebooks and handwritten stories were made available.

As far as I know only two people signal boosted this month, so I have chosen not to have a draw for a free story.

The winner of November's Surprise Draw is: [livejournal.com profile] natalief. This month the prize is the naming of a setting in any collection and one free story about this setting off at least 2000 words.

During November my goals were to: to reach 100,000 words of writing, which once again I didn't reach, but I wrote over 85,000 words; and to receive £50 in donations, which also didn't get reached.

Plans for December include: posting 1000 words of Advent Story a day; a collection spotlight and character spotlight, as well as writing for the last spotlights; prompts starting on the 19th of December of the theme of Yule and other winter festivals; a week long sale, starting today, for both handwritten stories and choose-your-own ebooks; and December is double credits month.

Goals for December: writing at least 75,000 words this month, because I think this goal will work better for me, and to reach £50 in donations, which will be going towards Christmas presents. I also want to edit everything I have posted so far and work on world building material that can be posted.

One free story was posted. This was First Meeting: Persephone and Aisling (LJ link) for the Thear collection.

I had one prompts period, which is still currently ongoing, that started on the 23rd of October. During this time I got 16 prompts from six people. From these prompts I wrote: Caitlyn's Spirit Guide Training - Sacred Calling (LJ link), Richard - An Old Soldier Dies (LJ link), and Richard - Samael show Richard a picture (LJ link) for the Afterlife collection; Alice - A Halloween Surprise (LJ link) for the Donor House collection; The Acalica (LJ link), Island Whales (LJ link), Tamara - Samhain Dance (LJ link), Autumn - Talking About Fireworks Night (LJ link), and Alder - Finding a Door (LJ link) for the Fae School collection; Amber - Samhain Dance (LJ link) for the 'Astral' World collection; Aurora - Blooming on Sauin's Day (LJ link) and Sauin Day Celebrations (LJ link) for the Aurora's World collection; Callie - Learning From Lakshmi (LJ link) for the Deities World collection; Anna - Saying Goodbye to Charlotte (LJ link) for the Pagan collection; Bree - Harvest Festival (LJ link) for the Thear collection; and Edward the Monster (LJ link) which is a random story.

I also took part in the Crowdfunding Creative Jam and wrote: Without Connection (LJ link) for the Afterlife collection; and A Princess who didn't wait to be rescued (LJ link) and A door that's always ajar (LJ link) for the Fae School collection.

Surprise Story Week stories had two continuations posted this month. The first continuations: Skyler (LJ link); Sebastian (LJ link); Heliopath (LJ link); Tristan (LJ link); Richard (LJ link); Vitali (LJ link); and Callidora (LJ link). The second continuations: Skyler (LJ link); Sebastian (LJ link); Heliopath (LJ link); Tristan (LJ link); Richard (LJ link); Vitali (LJ link); and Callidora (LJ link).

No random stories were posted this month.

No pieces of bonus material were posted this month, but I am working on two for [livejournal.com profile] ysabetwordsmith. One is job roles in the Afterlife collection and the other is the beginning of the vampires in the Donor House collection.

One donation was received from [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith. She sponsored two stories: John Good Road - A Conversation with Nick (LJ link); and Echoes of Alexandria - Nick and Alice's First Visit (LJ link).

The credit system has been implemented permanently as I have more than five people collecting them.

The winner of the free story for signal boosting is: [personal profile] kit_r_writing.

The winner of October's Surprise Draw is: [livejournal.com profile] aldersprig. This month the prize is a 10 story choose-your-own ebook.

During October my goals were: to reach 100,000 words of writing, which I unfortunately didn't get to but I did manage to write over 50,000 words; receiving £50 worth of donations, but I only made £4.50; and to have five people collecting credits, which I am happy to say I did meet.

Plans for November include: free story posted on the 1st; the beginning of the collection spotlight and character spotlight, also on the 1st; making choose-your-own ebooks and handwritten stories available on the 15th of November; continuations posted for Surprise Story Week stories; and a possible prompts day as I really enjoy getting prompts (remember I do have a permanent prompts page (LJ link) that you can use when I don't have a session open).

Goals for November: writing at least 100,000 words of story during the month and reaching £50 in donations, which will again be going towards Christmas presents.

Two free stories were posted. The first was Found (Part 1) (LJ link), which is from my Fae School collection, and the second was Introducing Amber (LJ link), which is from my 'Astral' World collection. The second free story is thanks to a donation from [personal profile] forgottenspirits.

I had one prompts day on the 1st of September and I received five prompts from three people, one of which included a donation which took the story up to 2500 words. From these prompts I wrote: The Beginning of the House continued (1) (LJ link) and The Beginning of the House continued (2) (LJ link) which were both for the Donor House collection; Archimedes and Hades (LJ link) for the Deities World collection; Letting Go (LJ link) and Becoming Death (LJ link) which were both for the Afterlife collection; and Naida's Story (LJ link) for the Fae School collection.

Three characters are currently adopted. [personal profile] meeks adopted Aurora from the Aurora's World collection after winning a free character adoption and [livejournal.com profile] ysabetwordsmith adopted two characters, Morgan and Richard, after receiving the chance to get free adoptions thanks to her wonderful typo-finding skills.

During Surprise Story Week I wrote seven stories. Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] ysabetwordsmith, [personal profile] meeks, [livejournal.com profile] unico_love, [livejournal.com profile] darkspirited1[livejournal.com profile] morrigans_eve  and [livejournal.com profile] kitrona for the numbers. From these numbers I wrote: Skyler (LJ link) for the Inquistion collection; Sebastian (LJ link), a random story; Heliopath (LJ link) for the Heliopath's World collection; Tristan (LJ link) for the Brotherhood collection; Richard (LJ link) for the Afterlife collection; Vitali (LJ link) for the Pagan collection; and Callidora (LJ link) for the Deities World collection.

No random stories were posted this month.

Three pieces of bonus material were posted: the Donor House timeline (LJ link) and Vampire Eating Habits (LJ link) for the Donor House collection; and Aurora's World Magic (LJ link). Spoilers are likely so don't read the bonus material if you don't like spoilers.

One donation was received from [personal profile] forgottenspirits for prompts day but no stories were sponsored.  [livejournal.com profile] ysabetwordsmith won the chance to name a character in a random collection during prompts day and the random collection was the Donor House collection, so she chose to name a Lakota character she had asked for a story about. His name is John Good Road. She has also named a permanent structure in the same collection and this is the bookshop Echoes of Alexandria.

A credits system (LJ link) is being tested out. Please let me know if you have any ideas for this system and if I have at least five people collecting credits by the end of October then I will implement the system permanently.

As only one person has signal boosted this month - many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ysabetwordsmith for her amazing signal boosting - I have chosen not to have a draw for the free story for signal boosting. Next month, if there is more than one person signal boosting, then the draw will be on as normal.

The winner of September's surprise draw was [livejournal.com profile] kitrona. This month the prize is the naming of a character in the world of the winner's choice.

Plans for October include: one free story posted in the 1st and the possibility of having a prompts period at the end of the month.

Goals for October: reaching at least 100,000 words of written during the month; reaching £50 in donations - donations will first go towards Christmas presents for the family and if I go over £50 then they will go into the 'moving out' fund; and having more people collecting credits.
k_a_webb: (Default)
In August I posted one free story, The Injection (LJ link), which is from my Post-Apocalypse Earth Collection.

I had one prompts day on the 13th of August and I received eight prompts from five people. From these prompts I wrote: Friends with Death (LJ link) for my Afterlife Collection; Trust (LJ link) for my Aurora's World collection; The Beginning of the House (LJ link) and A Conversation with Morgan (LJ link) for my Donor House Collection; Cough Medicine (LJ link) and Energy Healing (LJ link) for my Magi Collection; Waterfalls in Early Autumn (LJ link) for my Deities Collection; and Moon Dance (LJ link) for my Thear Collection. These stories are also available in a free ebook.

Character adoption (LJ link) was made available. No one has yet adopted a character.

Neither of the random stories received any comments so they haven't yet been continued. Lena's story (LJ link) is a fantasy with another world that connects to Earth via doorways with door guardians and Erin's story (LJ link) is a story about shapeshifters. If you wish to see either story continued then please comment.

No stories were sponsored and I received no donations. As there were no donations no one won the free story for donations and no one named any characters or permanent structures.

The winner of the August free story for signal boosting was: [personal profile] unico_love. Thanks to all those who also signal boosted. Next month there will be another chance to win so please signal boost if you'd like to win a story.

The winner of August's surprise draw was: [personal profile] meeks. This month the prize was three months character adoption at the second level so they will receive one story on their chosen character of between 2000 and 3000 words each month. Next month there will be another chance to win a surprise gift so please get involved with my work.

Plans for September include: one definite prompt day on the 1st and one possible on the autumn equinox; one free story posted, also on the 1st; and mystery story week from the 12th to the 17th.
