[sticky entry] Sticky: More about me

This was last edited far too long ago, so the time has come for me to change the sticky post... finally. I'm terrible at updating this, and my bio. Hopefully I won't leave it as long next time.

The ten things under the cut are also newly edited.

Ten things about me... )

*

It would have been easier for me to write more than ten because I know I missed some things out but I think I've put down some of the most important things. If you've read this and still want to get to know me then just add me. I'll add most people back as long as I feel we have something in common, whether that be a love for Midna or an interest in paganism.

Worlds...

I have too many of them, and yet I keep getting plot bunnied. They've always been problematic, but this is getting silly, although there are some things I could fit into already existing worlds. What I keep forgetting is that one world is not just one country/kingdom. They have more than that to them, which gives me certain freedoms I keep not making use of.

Actually, just writing this has helped me to see how I can fit certain things into existing worlds. That's good. I am happy with this situation.

Does anyone want access to my world building Google Docs folder? It's where I post my ideas for worlds, so if you want to help with that, or just want to read my ramblings, let me know. There should be some new files created in the next couple of days. See above for why.

Patreon

I'm back at Patreon. Patreon will be home to early access works, to worldbuilding stuff, and more. Getting it back up feels like a good thing, but I don't know. We're still dealing with a lot right now. I just want to be starting it up again, to see how things go, because I want to be doing my own thing, but I am just lacking in so much energy. Everything I have is mostly going towards surviving.

One of the most important things to me is that I start to earn something from my original fiction. This is something I've talked about before. It's something I'm going to talk about again. For now I'm going to ask anyone who's read something and mine that they've liked for a favour. Can you share a link to any story you've really liked, for whatever reason. That can be a link to the community, if you can find it there, or the website. I'd really like to get some more regular readers, or commenters, so any help is truly appreciated.

After thinking things through I've edited my subscription page. Support my writing in either pounds or American dollars (for now - I am happy to add other currencies if they're needed).

Being mod doesn't mean I can't join in. :) Here are my bingo cards for the month.

I've got a gen/romance card, which is kinda meh to be honest.

Yesterday I posted up my first ever card request post for [community profile] origfic_bingo, having just taken over as mod. I thought I might get a few card requests. It hasn't been running for a while now, so the last thing I expected was to have so many requests to deal with this morning. I'm so happy. Back when it was busy it was one of my favourite comms, and being able to do this is something I'm really glad I had a chance to do.

So, yeah, if you were once a member and you'd like a card then the request post is here. I've got some plans for the rest of the month that I look forward to putting into action. Hopefully I'll be able to get it back to where it was before. :)

I know I've got a lot of writers on my friends list, so it would be great if you could have a look and see what you think. The forum's pretty quiet at the moment, but the members I've had a chance to talk with have all been really nice, and I really like it there.

Worldsmyths is a non-role playing community of fantasy writers and readers who enjoy looking through the wrong end of a telescope, filled with writers of diverse backgrounds and experiences. We discuss everything from writer's block to cliches, to magic systems and technology as well as other things such as helpful resources and more. Our library is members only and serves as a great way to read the writing that's been posted and give chapter-by-chapter reviews. We also have month long writing challenges and a trove of writing prompts.

Features:
*Writing discussion and resources
*Writing prompts and challenges
*Beta reading
*Games
*Members only library with opportunity for feedback
*Friendly staff and members
and much more!

The website has had an update. I still have a couple of things I want to do, but that's something I'm planning on doing at a later date. For now I'm trying to work out what I want to be doing with the stories themselves. Read more... )

To keep things together I've started using the [community profile] kawebbwriting community to crosspost everything from the website. It would be great to have some more readers there, or at the website. Actually, with all the work I've done, I'm really happy with the website at the moment. There are still some bits that need work, like getting different art for each of the collections, but, for the moment, I don't have any issues with what's there. I've been posting more regularly, writing more regularly, and I'm looking forward to getting some new stories up in the near future.

I'm rebelling this year, and just writing stories for the Many Worlds. This is me, if you want to add me as a buddy.

For those of you who aren't on Imzy, or don't want to have to deal with another log in, I have a Dreamwidth community for the Many Worlds. I'm hoping to post at least once a week.

The matriarch of the Magi would never forgive anything she perceived to be morally wrong. That was why she would never be open to the possibility of helping the Carne, even in their hour of greatest need. They had once, long ago, kept the Magi as slaves and, even though there was no longer anyone in either race who lived through those days, she would not forget that. So when a Carne male walked into the council hall one autumn afternoon, in the same way that someone from any other race would, everyone already knew what her answer to his plea for help would be. Her daughter Marnie knew better than anyone because she had been the one to listen, unwillingly, to the many diatribes her mother had gone on.

I'm slowly getting back into things. Still got some stuff to deal with, but that's going to happen as it happens. However I have set up an Imzy community for the Many Worlds, so it would be great to see you there, and if anyone has questions I could start posting with that would really help.
