From now until the end of this month I’m after prompts about mysteries, enigmas, and that which has been lost. This can include lost people, lost places, lost races, lost histories, lost worlds, mysterious artifacts, unknown languages, something that’s been hidden that can’t be found (eg. the thing you put in a safe place but can never find again), and things that were lost that have been found. As always feel free to leave a random number prompt, or several, ranging from a single number to several together, which can be for a specific collection, character, or for a prompt – so you could give me something like 7, lost race, which could lead to the start of a very interesting AU. My aim, as always, is to write 500 words for every prompt, no matter how long it takes.

This month I’m going to be trying something new. Donations and links will buy time instead of words, which may mean you end up with more words than you would have done if I was sticking with the old way of doing things. Linking to the session or one of the stories I write for it will gain you an extra fifteen minutes of time on that particular prompt. Every £3 donated will get you half an hour, so if you donate £15 then I’ll work for 2 and a half hours on your prompt (although this probably won’t all be done at the same time). On a good day half an hour of work will lead to around a thousand words of fiction, although there have been days when you’d receive more and days when you’d receive less – it all depends on how easy the prompt is to write to. My top limit is £30 per prompt, not per prompter, so you can ask for more time on several prompts.

Perks this month are all dependent on how much I make. If I receive £10 in donations specifically for this session then I’ll add a list of perks to this post.

Also posted at website and mirror accounts - feel free to leave prompts here and I'll link to the stories when they're completed.

From now until midnight on Monday I’m open for prompts. This month I’m changing things a little and having a theme for the session, which is a minute, a year, a lifetime. As always I’m open to random number prompts and if you’re having trouble with the theme then give me any prompt that comes to mind.

For every prompt I receive I’ll write and post 500 words. If you signal boost this prompt call on any platform (LJ, DW, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) then I’ll double the word count for one prompt per platform (eg. leave me four prompts and boost on four platforms to get 1,000 words for every prompt you’ve left; leave me six prompts and boost on three platforms to get three stories of 1,000 words and three stories of 500 words – your choice which prompts get the bonus words).

If 5 people prompt me during this session I’ll write one bonus story of 1,000 words (a yule story for one of my collections). For every prompter following the fifth I’ll add another 500 words to the story.

More words can be purchased using either money or credits: £1.50 for 500 posted words or 3 credits for 1000 words sent as a PDF, up to a limit of 6,000 words (£18.00 or 18 credits) per prompt.

This month I’m aiming to help with the rent, so I’m looking to get between £140 and £380.

If I get £20 I will post one new piece of bonus material, which will be posted as soon as it is written, chosen by the donor whose donation gets me to this point.
If I get £40 I will write a story of at least 1000 words, which will be posted as soon as it is written, chosen again by the donor whose donation gets me to this point.
If I get £60 I will make all the stories written to prompts into an ebook, which will be emailed to everyone who has donated.
If I get £80 I will write one new piece of bonus material that will only be available in the ebook.
If I get £100 I will write one story of at least 1000 words that will only be available in the ebook.
For every £25 after the £100 I will add another bonus story or new piece of bonus material to the ebook.

If I reach £140 I’ll be ecstatic and I’ll post 20,000 words in January.

If I get £200 I will make a second ebook with at least 10 new stories in, of at least 1000 words, set in a collection of the donors choice, and 2 pieces of bonus material, which will be emailed to all the donors.
If I get £250 I will add at least three new stories which will only be available in the ebook and one piece of bonus material.

If I reach £380 I think I’ll pass out and I’ll triple the word count for January.

I'm having another prompt session, this one a little different from the others.

(Taken from kajoneswriting.co.uk.) I’m looking for a number of different things. Names; personality traits; disabilities (both visible and invisible); song lyrics; pictures; short prompts (eg. yellow book or midnight lamp); and I may add more things as I think of them. Once I have a number of these I’ll put them into a randomiser, give them all numbers, and use them as a form of self-created bingo challenge. The reason I’m doing this is because I get inspired by lots of different things, I want to write more stories, and I think doing this will make it much more fun.

My plan is to write 500 words for every prompt I receive. For every link posted to this prompt session I’ll write another 500 words for a prompt of the linkers choice and write 500 words for a prompt/previously written story of my choice. If I receive ten prompts I’ll write 1000 words of a prompter’s story and then for every prompt after the tenth I’ll add another 500 words. (End)

Feel free to prompt here if you wish, or at the website, or at kajones_writing on either LJ or DW.

Due to yet more family issues – I’ve given up thinking bad luck comes in threes – I’m probably not going to be around much for the next couple of weeks, maybe more, but I am going to try to get the posts up on the first. I’m not quite sure how yet.

However I am, from today, opening for prompts because I have decided to do the Blog 100 Things challenge and I’m looking to write 100 stories. They will all be at least 500 words, but some obviously may end up being much longer. I’m looking at a posting date of the 15th of May for the first story.

Prompts

From now until midday on Wednesday I am open for prompts. This session is going to be slightly different, because I’m not looking for writing prompts as such – I’m looking for character prompts. Basically what I’m after is prompters naming characters they love, hate, want to see more of, or just want to have fun with and a situation they’d like to see them in or another character they’d like to see them interact with – and they can be from any collection. Don’t know which characters you want to see? Give me random numbers. If you want to see two random characters thrown together give me two random numbers: eg. 4 & 27. Add in a situation if you want.

For every prompt and random number I receive I will write 500 words, which will be posted. Each additional 500 words will cost £1.50, up to a limit of 6000 words (£18.00), if you want the words posted. Credits can also be used to buy extra words, 3 credits per 1000 words – up to a limit of 6000 words (18 credits), but in this case the words won’t be posted and they’ll be sent to you as a PDF.

Anyone who posts a link for this prompts session will receive another 500 words, which can be used for a prompt of their choice (this can be their own prompt or a story that they like that has been written during this prompts session). For every five people that post a link I’ll write one extra story of at least 1000 words.

If I receive £50 in donations is month I will also be writing 10,000 words to be posted free during May and for every £50 after this I will write 10,000 words for the next however many months. Remember that for every £5 I receive I will also post a free story, so you’ll get up to seven more free stories this month followed by 10,000 words next month.

Everyone who prompts or leaves a random number will be entered into a draw to name a character in a collection chosen at random.

Everyone who donates will be entered into a draw to name a character in a collection of their choice. Any donation will get your name entered once and then for every £3 donated the donor will have their name entered again, up to a limit of eleven times for £30, and for every 5 donors there will be another draw, up to a limit of ten draws (50 donors).

The same person will not be eligible to win both the prompter’s draw and the donor’s draw, but it will be possible for someone to win more than once in the donor’s draw. If this happens, due to new naming rules, the donor will be able to name more than one character or they can choose to receive a story of at least 1000 words about their newly named character.

If I reach £60 in donations I will also enter all donors into a draw in which they can name a permanent stucture. Any donation will get your name entered once and then for every £3 donated the donor will have their name entered again, up to a limit of eleven times for £30, and for every 10 donors there will be another draw, up to a limit of five draws (50 donors). Anyone who wins this draw more than once will be able to choose between naming a second permanent structure and receiving at least 1000 words of story about their named permanent structure.

Not interested in naming anything? If you win one of the draws then let me know and we can talk about changing it into something you would like, such as a character adoption or words for one of your prompts.

Written for livejournal user marina_bonomi’s random number prompt.

With every step Freya took she wished a little harder that her wings actually worked and weren’t just for decoration. They were still behind her, so she couldn’t stop running, even though she wanted to. Her paws were burning with pain. She knew from the moment she stepped into the alleys she was in danger, but food was becoming a neccessity. Every other time she had got lucky. This time it seemed very much like they had been waiting for her to return, so maybe she hadn’t been as careful as she believed she had.

From now until the 23rd of December I am open for prompts on the subject of winter festivals, including Christmas. If you're no good at prompts then you can leave me a random number and I'll write a story based on one of these themes for the character. You may also leave a prompt with a random number (or more) and I will write a story based on that prompt with those random characters in. Leave me a selection of all three if you wish.

For every prompt and random number I receive I will write 500 words, which will be posted. Each additional 500 words will cost £1.50, up to a limit of 6000 words (£18.00), if you want the words posted. So far I have written 500 words for every prompt that I was given - which I think is 14 prompts but I can't quite remember. I'm going to keep the post open for another couple of days at least.

Four people have linked to the prompts session. If I get one more then that's a bonus story of 1000 words. These four people can also pick one story to add 500 words to, so [livejournal.com profile] ysabetwordsmith, [livejournal.com profile] kit_r_writing, [livejournal.com profile] aldersprig, and [personal profile] meeks would you like to let me know which story you'd like to add them to.

On Saturday I'm planning on spending the day, hopefully, working on prompted stories. At the moment there are so many things that I want to write that I find it hard to focus, so the plan is to try to get some of the people who have added one of my writing accounts involved in what I'm doing. I will write 500 words on every prompt that I get which will be posted on my writing account and sent to the prompted, probably as a PDF. If anyone wants more words on any of the stories then each additional 500 words will be £1.50, up to a limit of £12.00 for 4000 words. You can choose a specific story or I will pick a story to carry on if you don't want to choose.

The sorts of prompts I'm looking for are character prompts, eg. a story with Autumn and Tamara; collection prompts; or even single word prompts, eg. hope, tea, snuggling.

If I get ten prompts then I will post one piece of bonus material and this does include multiple prompts from one person, so if someone gives me two prompts then we will only need eight more. If I get 20 prompts there will be two piece of bonus material, and this will continue up to fifty prompts.

This is basically to get more free to read stories on my writing account so I'm not planning for huge amounts of money, but normal donor perks will be available and if I get more than £50 then I will think of a special donor perk for those who donated.

I will be open for prompts on this post from now until 6pm BST on Saturday.

Prompts are now CLOSED.

If you have a story you would like to see written then this is the post you should use to let me know. Is there a specific storyline you would like to see continued, an AU you'd like to see written, or see a story from another character's point of view? Would you like to see two characters from different worlds come together or would you like to throw a character into a different world just to see what happens? I will attempt to write a story of at least 1000 words for as many prompts as I can, send a copy of the story to the prompter (at which point it may be unedited), and then the story will be available to sponsor or be posted as a free story. I'm happy to try to write anything that you may come up with but I'm not promising that everything will work out, especially if you are interested in non-canon pairings. For every story that is written from a prompt I will name the prompter at the top of the story (eg. this story was prompted by Jenny/Queenie1286) unless they want to remain anonymous (eg. this story was written from a prompt).

Don't know what you want to see written but still want to get involved? Post me a number, any number between 1 and 25, and I'll write you a story on the character that currently has that number. You can ask for an AU (eg. AU 13, which may be something like an AU Kara) or you can give me two numbers to see a relationship built up between any two characters from any two collections (eg. 2 and 23, which could be Amber and Richard). This way anything you receive will be entirely random and may end up being entirely illogical but a lot of fun.
