I remember hearing, when I was much younger, of Hestia. Even though it isn’t obvious to someone who doesn’t know us she’s much older than me. When I was fifty and beginning to wonder why I’d been born a deity she was four-hundred. She’d completed her training, she’d taken on her first worlds, and Poseidon, who was going to be my mentor, asked her to talk to me. He thought it was important for me to talk to the young deities as well as the old, so I could get a full understand of what I was, even though I wasn’t yet in training. That wouldn’t happen until the year I turned one hundred. Before I met her I was in awe, mostly because of who she was. As the younger sister of Hades she wasn’t someone I wanted to get on the wrong side of, especially as Poseidon thought of Hades as a brother and I didn’t want him to decide not to take me on.

For a while I was going to, thinking that it wasn’t possible for someone to really write down what I wanted them to, but so far this does seem to be working. It’s a nice surprise and I can feel how uncomfortable she is writing this.
