It’s been a difficult week. Probably the most difficult of the year and with the way this year’s been that’s saying something. On Tuesday last week I went into our landlord’s room to check on Lenny, their Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and found that he’d died. Considering I’d seen him alive just after he’d come home from his morning walk about half an hour before it was a real shock. Unfortunately it was just before James’ appointment with the specialist, so he had to head off, and when he got back we both said a very tearful goodbye. Lenny may have belonged to the people we live with but he adopted us as his humans, so he spent hours in our room, laying on the bed or the floor. He’d become my writing buddy too, which made getting back to work harder than I expected it to be, because I thought it would be a good distraction.

James was also told that there’s a chance he’ll be suffering from his medical problem for the rest of his life, so it was just an awful day, but he was given some more pills and they do seem to be doing some good. The only problem is that it might be the Diclofenac he’s now on that’s helping and that’s a worry because I know what they can do to people. I’m glad he’s feeling more comfortable, although the antibiotics are still making him nauseous, but I’m going to be keeping a close eye on him, especially when he gets back to work. He does have another month off sick, so as long he keeps feeling as good as he is he should not need any more time off.

My second blog tour stop has happened today and I’ve kept up to date with the Case of the Counterfeit Enchantments, so I’m pleased with that, even though I really wanted to get more work done this month. When everything gets back to normal it will be much easier, as I’ll have six hours when James is sleeping to work, and I didn’t realise it was gone how much I appreciated having that time.

I'm sorry that the week sucked so much. I hope things get better soon.
