After working on the site yesterday to decrease the CPU runtime I’m back online. I’ve deleted a load of plug-ins, none of which I actually needed, and I’ve added the site to a content delivery network in the hope that will help. There are other things I’m in the process of doing that will hopefully keep my runtime down, because, apparently, WordPress is known for having problems due to the plug-ins normally. Some I am keeping, even though they’re supposed to increase the runtime, as they’re plug-ins I use, but mostly I’m down to the having as few plug-ins as I can.

I’ve also realised my series organiser is going to be difficult to work with, unless I keep a list of all the stories I have on the organiser and update it every time I post, because otherwise posts are going to end up in the wrong places.

I'm glad you have the site working again, and that you found the source of the problem.

That really sucks. It's bad when an ongoing project has parts that eat up a lot of maintenance time, when those are things that could be done automatically. Keep an eye out for database management options. This should be something that could be done by tagging and just sort itself, so that people could read by timeline or character or setting or whatever. Torn World has some features like that.
