11. Kniroch
Sep. 9th, 2012 09:33 pmWhen Kniroch was created it was one of the less experimental worlds. It became home to five magical races, who lived on one of four continents, and nothing out of the ordinary happened. That was until the first of five new worlds evolved, moving around Kniroch in the way a moon would. No one on Kniroch really had any idea what was happening there until one girl found out she had the ability to travel there.
Eventually five different worlds evolved around Kniroch. Only people born on the planet could travel to them, which meant the world walkers had no idea what was happening on any of them, and no one wanted to tell them. Each one was different to the others and people who could travel to them often found their magical abilities changed depending on which world they were on.

This immediately makes me wonder if their orbital mechanics and spacing are similar to those of material solar systems. Because you can get some utterly fascinating effects with shepherd moons and so forth. Given the way magic flows, I'd rather expect to see some "lanes" swept almost clear of it and other areas with especially dense energy. I was using gravitic patterns as inspiration when I designed the two moons of Quiar (well, that and a 2-cylinder engine).
