Written for [personal profile] forgottenspirits' picture prompt.

There have been stories, ever since the entry of the fae into our world, of islands that have appeared out of nowhere before disappearing just as suddenly. Humans have been searching for a meaning for them and if they'd asked the fae it would have been much easier, although the fae had no idea that the whales had managed to follow them. Of course, what the fae don't know is that the whales only followed them because they wanted to. For millenia the whales have been travelling through undersea portals, finding worlds with some form of magic and enjoying the feel of new seas.

Written for [personal profile] forgottenspirits' prompt about what the fae think of Fireworks Night.

The separation between the two races meant that the fae knew about Fireworks Night but very few truly understood the meaning behind it. Autumn had seen plenty of fireworks from her window, on Fireworks Night and other nights, so she knew what they looked like. To her fae eyes they were pretty and she understood that humans didn't have magic to create pretty lights so they had to use explosives. If she compared the lights the fae created to fireworks she knew without any doubt which of the two were safer. Of course, they were very different things with origins that had no connection with each other. Fireworks had existed long before the fae arrived and humans would never let go of something that they loved so much.

The harvest festival had always been one of her favourite celebrations and, even though she hated the way it had become more religious, she made sure she always had the day off. On a large round table in the centre of the square there was a selection of different foods, all made with the bounty that had come from the earth. As always the farmers and their families were the first to collect their food in order to thank them for the hard work they had done throughout the year. If it wasn't for them each family would have to fend for themselves, even if they were like Bree and didn't have the same connection to the earth that the farming families did.

So far I have written 500 words for every prompt that I was given - which I think is 14 prompts but I can't quite remember. I'm going to keep the post open for another couple of days at least.

Four people have linked to the prompts session. If I get one more then that's a bonus story of 1000 words. These four people can also pick one story to add 500 words to, so [livejournal.com profile] ysabetwordsmith, [livejournal.com profile] kit_r_writing, [livejournal.com profile] aldersprig, and [personal profile] meeks would you like to let me know which story you'd like to add them to.
