Writing - More Thoughts

Personally I like reading stories online. If something is available to read on a website I generally don't have a problem with reading it there, rather than reading it on an ereader. Occasionally, if something is really of interest to me, I might get the ebook, but in general it's not really not something I feel I need to do. Tipjars are something I do like, mostly because it gives me the option of giving however much I want. I don't need anything in return if I've enjoyed what I've read.
On my website I'm doing my best to make my work available to as many people as possible. I find it hard to do, because I don't get very much input on what works and what doesn't, and I was thinking of making a poll here to make it simpler. Commenting, I know, isn't always easy, so a poll would be, I think, the better option. Unfortunately I don't have a paid account. I could create one on LJ, when I've worked out the questions I really want to ask and how to word them to get the best answers I can, but I don't know how many people would go to another site to answer questions on my website, which is yet another site.
What I wish I still had was a way of crossposting everything, but I don't. I think it's much simpler for people to stay in one place. I could post everything here as well, if if didn't take up time I don't really have, because I do like posting here. I like having people comment on what I write and I don't get any at the website. At the same time I have a much better set-up at the website, which makes my stories far easier to read. That was the whole reason I created the website in the first place. I wanted to have it so someone could go from one part of the story to the next by clicking a link and that's exactly what I've done. In the tags I've made sure to note the characters in it, so any favourites are easy to find.
Honestly, as I also have the ebooks, I'm not certain what else I can do to make my writing accessible. I know not having many finished stories would be an issue to some people, which is why that's the next thing I'm working on. I'm trying to work out if I should post the novellas as I write them. I want to. Maybe I should just give up thinking about what's right for everyone else and just focus on what I want to do. All I need is the time to be able to do it and that's not easy to get at the moment. Neither is finding the focus. I'm forever flitting from one thing to the other and I can't be, although part of the reason is the number of orders I currently have.
I have 12 orders to complete on Fiverr, the majority are for short stories. Two of my regular buyers I'm certain are reliable, so I'm not worried about them, but that's an income of $800. Another one is waiting on an editor to get back to them and we all know how well things work out when editors are involved with my work. One of the stories I'm working on might want a series, another one seems to want one, another is the beginning of something longer, but I still find myself wondering if any of that's going to work out. Sometimes, at quiet times, I hate freelancing, which is why I need some income from the website - and that's why I keep talking about this.
Learning more about what people are interested in, where they like to read, how they like to read... it all helps me to get to a point where I might be able to start getting the income I need from the website instead of always having to worry about the number of orders I have. A million words of mostly incomplete fiction isn't going to get me anywhere. I have the first of my random numbers, which is good. I have my list, ready for if I get any more, and if I don't I'm just going to use the generator. I want to be finishing my own things as well as other people's. When I have things finished I will be posting links to them here. Hopefully next week I'll be able to sort myself out and get everything done I want to get done... or maybe I won't. I think it all depends on everything else that's happening. When I didn't have so much going on around me it was so easy for me to write for hours on end without stopping. Now it's nowhere near as simple.
