December Round-Up

The Advent Story went well, although I misjudged the wordcount and ended up having to write three little bonus stories at the end. They focused on characters that had been introduced during the Advent Story: the British Prime Minister, George; Alder’s sister, Esra: and one of the other elders, Sorrel. I want to write more about all of them and one thing I really want to write about is how George became Prime Minister. (See links for these stories here and all the other stories I posted in 2012.)
I also posted almost all the stories for the October Prompt Session, including finally managing to write about Lucifer. That is something I was very happy about because he’s finally stopped nagging me. I have one more story left to post, for Elizabeth, before which will be posted by the end of the month, along with the stories from the December Prompt Call.
The Sunday Raffles didn’t seem to interest anyone, which is why I ended up trailing off at the end of the month, but I’m going to keep going with the raffle idea for a few months and see if I can make them interest more people. Elizabeth Barrette and MJ Ashford are my two winners, because they actually entered, so send me an email and let me know what prize you’d like.
January is character profile month, so hopefully from tomorrow I’ll be posting full profiles, instead of cheating, and so far I’ve posted a story a day – making it through the year may be more difficult that I think it’s going to be, but I feel good about it right now. This month I’m also planning on having a random number prompt session and I’ll be having a themed prompt session at the end of the month/beginning of February. I’m going to begin posting stories for my bingo cards too, which is going to make January a busy month.
My goals for January are: writing at least 50,000 words, which should be easy enough; post every day; and earn at least £50 in donations – I have to renew my website hosting in March, so I hope to earn that (£60 for two years), and some money for the groceries.
