I'm not certain this is going to be a regular thing, but I wanted to get this down, so I have a general idea of what people are interested in reading. Some will be posted to the website, which means it will be available here to read, while others will go up on Patreon, or will be available with a purchase of the Monthly Membership, or will be sold separately.

The first thing I want to be doing is technically not writing. Instead it's reading out my own writing and making it available on Patreon. I started this last month, I believe, or possibly in April, and now I want to get back to it. I'm going to be finishing what I have of Mirica first, which should, I hope, lead to me finishing that story, and then moving on to something else. Even though I'm not very good I like doing it. The good thing about this is I can get it in between other jobs.

I've started one of the Donor House AUs I've been wanting to write for ages - Anne Boleyn becomes a vampire. My Anne is not the same as the Anne of history, because she goes through a lot when she becomes a vampire, but I'm not starting at the beginning. I'm starting at the point when her father convinces her to change the King and how this affects everything. This is something I want to complete in the next couple of days and have posted up.

When I have that done there's a lot of Fae World work I want to be completing. Lots of that is snippets of stories, so I'm going to focus on that, and the World Walkers, and probably the Donor House. I think the aim is to have ten complete stories for each of them, while also doing some work on the other collections. As I complete and make them available for purchase I'll have updates.

As well as that I want to complete the novellas I was working on. At the moment I'm still not entirely certain if they're the right beginnings, but I'm going to look over them and then go from there. That, for those of you who might have missed the writing update, are the Sleeping World, the Ships' series, the Demon Assassins series, and a series of novellas for the Donor House about a vampire called Bastien. The beginnings of three of these are posted at my Patreon account, pre-edits. I also have the Missing series, but I haven't started that yet. I need to work out how it's going to work first.

Let me know what sounds most interesting. The more feedback I get the happier I am. Honestly, with the original fiction, I think part of the problem I had with keep writing was not having the same feedback I get with the ghostwriting. With that I get reviews from a lot of people almost straight away and it really does help.

Okay, new people, old people, anyone who might happen to read this - what can I do to get people more interested in my writing?

At the moment I'm really not in the right headspace to deal with Amazon in any way, because there are too many people there and I'm going to need some time to build up to that. For those who don't know I have intense social anxiety, so something like that, at the moment, isn't something I'd be capable of dealing with. I've tried the Web Fiction Guide and don't seem to have got anywhere with that. I've tried advertising via Project Wonderful and haven't had any new visitors to my site. This means I need something different.

Crowdfunding in the way I was before, as I've said, isn't possible. Many thanks to the EU for that one. I like Gumroad, because they deal with EU VAT for me, as do Patreon. I'd love to work out how to do it, but that's going to take time I don't have at the moment. So, due to time and anxiety issues I'm going to need something relatively simple.

Suggestions would be great. The more the better. I'm in desperate need of some relatively passive income and I'm hoping, everything's crossed, I'll be able to earn enough to cover the rent for the office using that.

Having a dog to look after today has meant I've got very little work done. I'm hoping to work after he's gone, but that's going to be another half an hour, at least, and I'm going to have to eat and wash up first. However I've realised that isn't too much of an issue this month, because I'm in a good position with the ghostwriting I need to get done as well as the money I already have. Sometimes I really do panic far too much over money. I think it's because this is my first time being the main earner and I'm always going to panic over that sort of thing, especially as I'm a freelancer - so this could all fall apart tomorrow. However I'm not going to think about that right now.

Instead I'm back to working out how to get more interest in my writing. I have my website. I've done a lot of work to make it as easy to get around as possible, because that's important to me. With my new shortcodes that should be a lot easier than it has been. So what I'm thinking of doing is posting a link to three stories a day, for the next couple of weeks, and see what sort of interest I get from that. The whole point of the website was for it to be used and I want people to be using it. I want there to be comments. I want there to be discussions. I want it to be the home of my writing and where my readers know they can come to talk to me.

I do have my like and write more buttons. These would be wonderful if I get feedback from them, to say someone had clicked on them, but they don't. This doesn't mean I don't want you to click on them. Every time someone does it shows they have been reading. When it comes to comments I don't mind if they're one word. I don't mind if you're asking me questions about the characters. I don't mind if you're asking my questions about the settings. Once I have a bit more time I do plan on going back and dealing with the typoes, but that's going to have to wait for a little while, and I don't mind if they get pointed out. I just want there to be people there.

All three of the links today will take you to unfinished stories within collections I am currently working on. It should be easy enough to go from one to the next and if you're interested in the collection itself use the collections dropdown menu in the sidebar.

The first story is a Kim's Earth story. It's set a little later than the rest, although all of the stories are relatively early in the timeline for this collection. One thing to note about this collection is that there are a lot of stories with mentions of death, as it is apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic. So, this is Skye: Stealing Shoes. Let me know if you like this story, or any of the others in the collection, and I'll do my best to finish them as soon as possible.

Next we have a Brotherhood story. This is a collection I've been working on for years, ever since I first decided on the Millennium Bug being something supernatural rather than anything to do with computers, and this is based on that. The story I've chosen is relatively early, but not the earliest, so this is Kara: Meeting Daniel. As above let me know what you think and I'll write more on any of these stories, because it is one of my favourite collections, although I do need to work a lot more on the world building for it.

Finally, for today, there's an Aurora's World story, and this is one of my favourites. I love stories like this, so the plan is to write more of them. Aurora's World is a wolrd where the magic you have is connected to the day you're born - and it's illegal. The story I've chosen is, as far as I know, mid-timeline, but this is one of those collections that keeps growing as I learn more about the world. This is Becoming Human. As above let me know what you think.

If you like any of these stories as much as I do you can own them as they are in the Collection Ebooks or you can join the Monthly Membership and wait for the finished stories to become available (and get access to them as they are in the Collection Ebooks). Updates will go to all buyers on a fortnightly basis once I've started finishing stories off to let you know what's newly available.

Signal boosting is also always appreciated.
