I stepped through the portal, still trying to rub whatever it was off my fingers, and when I looked around I realised that something had gone very wrong. “He always was too clever for his own good,” a male voice said, making my heart sink. “The only way he could have got you through the portal with that on your hands was if he used a certain ritual that he should know better then to try, because he knows how easy it is for someone to have already made certain that the person in question will end up in a place of their choosing. It won’t take him long to follow you, though, so it’s time to move.”
