I do exactly the same thing. In one way it's a good thing, because I really don't need any more collections to be dealing with. However a lot of things connect to the fae and their terrible decisions - and normally that means things haven't turned out well. The more I think about it the more certain I am that Aurora's World is connected to the fae. At some point I am going to write the story that proves it, but I have a feeling they're doing their very best not to tell me.
Soil of her homeland would be difficult, considering the fact she was from Earth and found herself on Eorith due to magic. I was thinking it might have something to do with the time at which she found herself there, but, from what I've written, it seems that mostly happens at dawn, when the new arrivals wake up and find themselves on another world. Plants might work better, especially as she woke up under a tree... oh, yes, that could be it. Druids that have magic connected to a specific tree. So if they woke up under an oak their magic would be oak magic. I don't know how that's going to turn out, but it does seem to make a lot of sense, and explains why the druids wake up all over the place. Now I just need to work out what the other classes are.
The humans who end up there almost always have magic of some kind. So that's druids, sorcerers, witches, wizards, necromancers... I had a list somewhere. Knowing my luck it's at the office. I really do need to start using Evernote for my scribbles instead of random bits of paper.
As you can see you have helped. That's why I like doing things like this. Worldbuilding while I'm writing always works better. :)
