>>It later became used as the walkers route through the worlds. Often walkers will learn about a strand of worlds in order to make their journeys through the web easier, otherwise they would have to use temporary tattoos in order to travel through one world to get to another.<<
That's how I figured it would work. The worlds that connect to more of the others, or that are near the base of a main line, would be more important and more traveled than the less connected or less central ones.
>>There are walkers who simply make their choices based on which worlds they would most like to visit and have no problem with the temporary tattoos.<<
I bet somewhere out there is a masochist who just really enjoys getting ink and likes being able to have the temporary tattoos that can be replaced with new and different ones.
>>The only other time a temporary door is created is if there is a door malfunction. Normally they’re easy to solve, but as the doors get older there are more malfunctions.<<
Yeah, I've seen gateway malfunctions in some of my own settings. The results are not pretty.
>>Taithmarin has no connections to any of the worlds the fae created<<
Fascinating. I think Quiar would have the four obvious connections, visible to the world walkers, but probably more only known to its natives. That raises an interesting question: are the demon doors typically accessible only to natives of each world, or are some of those accessible to demons in general even offworlder ones?
>> If either the fae or the walkers had tried to utilise the doors there is every chance that they would have moved.<<
